Grade 6 Students Graduate from K.I.D.S. Program
As part of Braemar’s citizenship programming, each grade participates in grade-specific programs ensuring we are living out our commitment to citizenship.
This year the Grade 6 class participated in K.I.D.S (Knowledge, Issues, Decisions, Supports) which replaced DARE. This 6 week program is taught by specially trained police officers in the classroom. The subject areas include – Youth and the Law, Peer to Peer Relationships, Online and Social Media Awareness, Drug Awareness and Mental Health Awareness.
On Thursday, the class celebrated with a graduation ceremony recognizing their accomplishments in the program. A special thank you to Officer Glover for teaching this session.
