Giving Back this Holiday Season

Giving Back this Holiday Season

We recently finished our Christmas Basket Campaign which is part of our community outreach program.  Each morning the Prep One Elves “joyfully” collected items from all classrooms.  They brought the items back to the Prep One room where they sorted, counted and tallied the items as part of their Math program.

Together the Braemar Community donated:

  • 439 food items (over double from last year!)
  • 135 winter clothing (clothing, hats, mittens and scarves) A large portion of this number was purchased with the money raised through November’s Tuck Shop profits.
  • 77 books
  • 78 toys
  • 73 items for older students

Totaling 802 items! This is the most items that Braemar has EVER donated!

The grade 7 & 8 classes worked cooperatively to load all the items onto a school bus as part of the Fill-A-Bus campaign, which was then delivered to the Christmas Basket Headquarters.  They then spent the morning volunteering their time at the Brantford Christmas Baskets Headquarters to help unload the buses and organize the donations

Thank you to the Prep One Elves for joyfully collecting the donated items each morning.  They brought a smile to many faces each morning.  A BIG thank you goes out to the Braemar Community for displaying such generosity. These donations will make a difference to those in need during this holiday season.
